Picking someone up
Where someone gets in and where you can wait or meet.
- Picking up: permittedYou may pull to the curb only long enough to pick up a waiting traveler: the traveler must have retrieved their bags and be waiting outside the terminal before you pull curbside. Exchange cell phone numbers so your traveler can call you when they land and you can avoid circling the roadway.
- Waiting: not permittedStrict federal security directives prohibit parked or unattended vehicles on the roadways in front of the terminals, even for a short time. Parking your vehicle at the curb while you wait for arriving travelers to emerge from the terminal is not allowed. Unattended vehicles may be ticketed and towed.
- Terminal 1 FLEX Lane Drop-off / Pick-upKiss & Ride
- Picking up: permittedThe FLEX Lane is also a designated area for pick-up at Terminal 1, with terminal access via doors 5-8.
- Terminal 2 Express Drop-off / Pick-upKiss & Ride
- Picking up: permittedVehicles entering the Express Drop-off / Pick-up area have the option to enter the Hourly Parking area should you need to wait or leave your vehicle.
- Terminal 1: Hourly ParkingPark and come inside
- Picking up: permittedCovered Hourly Parking on Level 3 of the Gold Ramp is intended for pick-ups and drop-offs at Terminal 1 and limited to visits shorter than 4 hours. It connects to Terminal 1 via skyway, so you can park and wait inside.
- Terminal 2: Hourly ParkingPark and come inside
- Picking up: permittedHourly Parking in the covered Orange and Purple Ramps is intended for pick-ups and drop-offs at Terminal 2. It connects to Terminal 2 via skyway, so you can park and wait inside, and is adjacent to the Express Lane Drop-off / Pick-up area.
- Cell Phone Waiting LotPark and come inside
- Waiting: permittedIf you're simply picking someone up, wait for their "I'm ready!" call in one of two complimentary cell phone waiting lots. The East and West lots are located 0.2 miles apart on the south side of Post Road, approximately halfway between Terminals 1 and 2. Have your traveler call you when they've picked up their luggage and are exiting the terminal.

Dropping someone off
A quick drop-off, or park and come inside.
- Dropping off: permittedYou may pull to the curb in front of a terminal only long enough to drop off a traveler. Know which airline your traveler is flying: there are two terminals at MSP, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, with different airlines at each.
- Dropping off: permittedThe FLEX Lane is a newly designated area for drop-off and pick-up in the upper-level Departures loop, with terminal access via doors 5-8. Follow signage to the left lane of the upper Departures loop, then take the first left into the FLEX Lane at the top of the rise. Passengers enter via doors 5-8, take an elevator, escalator or stairway up to the next level, then a short skyway to the terminal. For optimal accessibility, the most convenient way to enter is via the designated area at doors 2 and 3.
- Terminal 2 Express Drop-off / Pick-upKiss & Ride
- Dropping off: permittedIn addition to the terminal curb, visitors at Terminal 2 can use the Express Lane when picking up or dropping off travelers. Located next to the skyway on Level 2 of the Purple Ramp, it provides a free, climate-controlled alternative to the main roadway.
