• Airport Waiting Zone

  Where: Airport Waiting Zone at Callerton Parkway, next to the Metro station (outside the airport)
  • Picking up: permittedA complimentary, fully accessible shuttle bus provides transfers between the Waiting Zone and the terminal. It leaves the terminal on the hour and at 30 minutes past the hour, and the Waiting Zone at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour.
  • Waiting: permittedA safe area for vehicles to wait before picking passengers up, at Callerton Parkway (postcode NE13 8DN), next to Callerton Parkway Metro station and just a few minutes' drive from the terminal, with up to 90 minutes of free parking for taxis, minibuses and public vehicles.

  • Dropping off: permittedThe Express Pick Up and Drop Off car park is immediately outside the terminal and is the most convenient place for picking up or dropping off passengers. It is ticketless: cameras record entry and exit, and you pay on exit by credit or debit card; cash is accepted only at the designated cash payment machines. The road immediately in front of the terminal is restricted to Airport Taxis, selected bus operators and airport vehicles.
