Introduction

Toledo Executive Airport (IATA: TDZ, ICAO: KTDZ, FAA LID: TDZ) is a public use airport located in Wood County, seven miles (11 km) southeast of the central business district of Toledo, Ohio. The airport, formerly known as Metcalf Field, was renamed in 2010 and is used primarily for general aviation and also serves Toledo Express Airport (TOL) to provide additional capacity.

Airlines and Destinations

It has no commercial passengers and no scheduled airlines serve Toledo Executive Airport. General aviation, private & charter (mainly) are the operations at TDZ. Although it is somewhat of a private and corporate airport, no commercial airlines serve TDZ.

The Seats and Flights per Passenger

The airport is not competing with the nearby Toledo Express Airport, which serves more than 600,000 passengers per year, and as a reliever it would typically see lower traffic levels. Despite this, general aviation continues to be a constant presence at the airport. The operator says that in recent years, the airport has handled about 500,000 passenger departures per year and well over 100 departing flights a week.

How to Get Here

Address: 28331 Lemoyne Rd, Millbury, OH 43447. I-280 and OH 2 provide direct access to the airport by car. From there, follow the signs for the airport, which are right off of this exit as well.

Parking

There is free parking in the airport's primary lot for passengers and guests alike. Parking here has no fees and is not limited in time, so it represents a good choice for travelers who leave their car at Toledo Executive. Guests can also park at the nearby Red Roof Inn Perrysburg, which provides long-term parking and has a complimentary airport shuttle service.

Transportation Prices

Toledo Executive is a small regional type of airport, so it does not have the robust array of transportation options as you do at one of the international hubs. That being said, there are plenty of other cost-effective means to reach the airport and leave it. Many rideshare services (such as Uber and Lyft) are accessible, with some fares averaging between $15-$25 one-way. This service will also bring you right to our door, and the pricing is typically of a similar range as taxi/shuttle-services.

Terminal Layout

Toledo Executive Airport has one terminal with an upper and lower level. The upper level is for departures, and the lower level is for arrivals. There are a few amenities at the terminal, such as available food, shops, and free WiFi for passengers.

Navigate the Airport

Toledo Executive Airport is easy to get around, since it's on the small side. The single terminal design will feature intuitive connections between gates for easy way-finding by passengers. The signs are clear, and flight attendants can direct you where to go from there if needed. The passengers getting through the terminal can easily and comfortably reach departure/arrival halls, as well as amenities and services.

Getting Between Terminals

Of course, the single terminal (there's only one there) eliminates any need to shuttle between terminals at Toledo Executive Airport. Guests may merely walk from the departure level to the arrival level, or vice versa, to reach their desired portion of the airport.

Services and Amenities

Toledo Executive Airport might be a smaller sibling to Toledo Express, but it still has the passenger amenities and features that those flying in on chartered jets want. These include facilities such as free WiFi, charging stations, and a comfortable seating area. It also has restrooms, ATMs, and a limited array of food and beverage options.

Restaurants and Shops

While the dining and shopping options at Toledo Executive are not as extensive as larger airports, there are still a couple of places worth noting. The Iron Skillet Restaurant serves American traditional food, and there is also a small convenience store inside the terminal to buy snacks and other items.

Security and Customs

Without all the luxuries of international airports like security and customs, Toledo Executive has remained a very manageable airport. Passengers will still need to go through security checks, but the lines are typically shorter and smoother than at larger hubs. It is not responsible for customs services, as it does not involve any international connections.

Accessibility

The Toledo Executive Airport offers an inclusive environment that is comfortable for all travelers. The possibility of being stranded at the airport for an unexpected, and possibly extended, period is real: The terminal has features allowing it to accommodate passengers with disabilities, such as designated parking spaces, ramps, and accessible restrooms. For passengers with disabilities, airport staff are available to provide support as well.
