Alliance Airlines History
In the year 2002, Alliance Airlines was founded as the result of the acquisition of Flight West Airlines by Queensland Airline Holdings, a Brisbane-based company. This airline company was owned by Alliance Aviation Services Limited. The Flight West Airlines was established in the year 1987 but unfortunately ceased its scheduled services in 2001. At the beginning of Alliance Airlines, it makes use of two Fokker 100 aircraft to provide services to the mining and energy sector and since then it has expanded its fleet and greatly progress on its operational capabilities. Some of the fleets that were added were Fokker 70 and Fokker 100. It also received various awards and recognitions like the Asia Pacific Regional Airline of the Year, the first aircraft operator in Australia to have the Flight Safety Foundation Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) Gold Status and also the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification.
Alliance Airlines offers fly-in fly-out (FIFO) services, scheduled services, aircraft charters, aircraft sales and leasing, and aircraft maintenance. For its FIFO services, it has reached over 20 mines sites across Australia namely Barimunya, Coondewanna, Newman, Leonora, Century Mine, Ballera, Cannington, Cloncurry, Groote Eylandt, Leinster, Mount Keith, Olympic Dam, Phosphate Hill, Telfer, and The Granites.
With regards to its aircraft charters, it operates to South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. It covers various types of group travel namely inbound and domestic tourism, corporate and business travelers, meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE), entertainment and media, educational group, government delegates, and even sports teams.
Moving forward to its services in aircraft sales and leasing, it allows short and long term, leasing for planning and capacity worldwide. Besides, what adds up to their revenue is the wet-leasing, which includes the complete crew, maintenance, and insurance, dry leasing, which makes use of the aircraft alone, engine sales and leasing, spare parts supply and of course, aircraft sales.
Aside from the above-mentioned services, it also offers maintenance and support for Fokker aircraft and it was approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). With that, rest assured that Alliance Airlines will effectively meet the pre-defined requirements of the aircraft operators.
Alliance Airlines Destinations
Alliance Airlines provides charter services across Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and Southeast Asia. For its scheduled services, it flies to Adelaide, Olympic Dam, Cairns, and Groote Eylandt. In the year 2017, it entered an agreement with Virgin Australia which makes way to open various new routes such as Brisbane, Bundaberg, Gladstone, and Port Macquarie. With regards to its operations to Mount Isa, Cloncurry, and Rockhampton, Alliance Airlines entered a wet-lease agreement with Virgin Australia as well.
