History of China Southern Airlines
China Southern Airlines was founded on July 1, 1988, with its base located in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, China. With main hubs in Beijing Capital International Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, it is one of the big three main Chinese airlines, alongside with Air China and Eastern Airline. China Southern Air Holding Company is its parent company.

China Southern is also the first Chinese airline to operate the Airbus-A380 giant aircraft in 2011.

China Southern Airlines was the first Chinese airline to fly to Taipei, Taiwan with its Boeing 777 in 2005. It always remains a historical day between Chinese-Taiwanese relations since it was the first flight between the two countries after the civil war ends in 1949.
On 2007, the China Southern Airline became the 11th member of SkyTeam, making it the first Chinese airline to ever join any global airline alliance. Skyteam is the second biggest airline alliance in the world that was formed in 2000. On January 1, 2019, the airline ends its membership with the airline alliance, and started partnership with American Airlines on March 2019.
In 2014, the China Southern Airline became one of the few airlines to ever carry more than 110 million passengers annually, following Delta Airlines and Southwest Airlines in the United States.
