EasyJet History

EasyJet is a British low-cost carrier that was founded in March 1995 with its headquarters located in Luton, United Kingdom. Its first flight commenced on November 10, 1995, that took off from London-Luton to Glasgow. EasyJet is a subsidiary of easyGroup Holding Ltd. with a 34.62% stake in the airline.

The airline has a subsidiary airline in Switzerland called easyJet Switzerland after the carrier bought a share in the Swiss charter operation TEA Basel AG in March 1998. The airline commenced operation on April 1, 1999. EasyJet also opened another subsidiary airline in Vienna, Austria which was called easyJet Europe in 2017.
