Flybe History

Flybe was founded on November 1, 1979, as Jersey European Airways, with its headquarters located in Exeter, United Kingdom. The airline merged with Spacegrand in 1985 after it was taken over by Walker Steel Group in 1983. In the year 2000, the Jersey European renamed itself as British European and got its current name Flybe in 2002. The airline was bought by Connect Airways consortium in February 2019.

Flybe’s main hub is located at Birmingham Airport and Manchester Airport and is now a member of the European Regions Airline Association.
