Garuda Indonesia is the flag carrier of Indonesia that was founded on August 1, 1947, with its headquarters located at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Indonesia. The airline commenced its operation on January 26, 1949, and was previously known as Garuda Indonesian Airways.

Garuda Indonesia officially joined the SkyTeam alliance on March 5, 2014, and became the 20th member of the airline alliance. It is the second-largest airline in Indonesia and has its main hub located at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Ngurah Rai International Airport.
