Hinterland Aviation is a regional carrier that is based in Queensland, Australia. On the early years after establishment in 1984, it operates scheduled flights commencing from Cairns Airport to Townsville Airport. Besides, being a charter company, it offers services to the mining industry as well.

In the year 1992, the company was acquired by Trailfinders, a travel firm which makes way to provide charter services to the tourism industry. However, in the year 2015, it was sold to Broom Air Services. Its CEO, Peter Christoudias defined this act as a merger.

The company’s mission is to provide exceptional services to its client as well as flying with the highest level of safety. It has over 30 years of experience in the industry being very passionate and dedicated to meet the operational and safety excellence, in return build long-term client relationship and positive word of mouth. Hinterland Aviation provides a regular and charter service to Cooktown. Yearly, it operates over 5,000 flights with around 50,000 passengers. Hinterland Aviation’s fleet includes Cessna 310, Cessna 402, Cessna 404, Cessna 208, and Beechcraft King Air 200. The Cessna 310 is just for small groups up to four passengers. The Cessna 402 is the aircraft that can accommodate up to six passengers since it has a wider cabin. The Cessna 404’s seating capacity is up to 8 passengers. This aircraft can operate to various remote destinations and airstrips. On the other hand, the Cessna 208 can fly up to twelve passengers. This is also the most popular fleet that is being used throughout Australia.
