Propair operates charter and medevac flights. Its headquarter is located at the Rouyn-Noranda Airport in Quebec, Canada. It does have a second base that can be found at Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. Unfortunately, it has been closed since July 2018.

La Sarre Air Service, a bust aviation company was purchased by Émilien Pronovost in 1954. Its headquarter is located in Nord-du-Québec. Being a true pioneer of regional air transport, Émilien Pronovost hired workers, scientists and make ways to attract various prospectors to the region. Jean and Louis played a big role in developing Québec’s largest construction site. Later on, after another ten years, specifically in 1981, his sons were able to purchase the company.

Aside from that, the family was able to purchase Air Fecteau and merged the two businesses and that paved way to the creation of Propair. It started to have around 40 aircraft and known to be the largest bush aviation company in Eastern Canada which focuses on serving the entire Québec territory. The time comes that the region’s major project was completed, the signing of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement happened concerning the impacts on hunting and fishing jaunts. Propair needed to meet the demands of its traditional markets that’s why they acquired aircraft designed for business air charters and air taxi like the turboprop aircraft with pressurized cabins. Propair Fleet

Currently, Propair owns Beechcraft King Air with a total of 10 aircraft and Beechcraft 1900. Beechcraft King Air can accommodate 9 passengers and can also be used for cargo and medevac flights. On the other hand, Beechcraft 1900 has a maximum of 18 passengers in total and can also be used in cargo. Propair is known as the last Canadian operator of the Grumman Gulfstream I. Unfortunately, their aircraft retired in 2017.
