Shenzhen Airlines was founded in November 1992 with its headquarters located in Bao’an District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. It commenced its operation in September 1993 and is a member of Star Alliance since 2012. It is owned by Air China and Shenzhen International Total Logistics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and mainly engaged in the business of passenger, cargo, and mail transportation.
Aside from its main hub in Shenzhen, the airline has its primary hub in Guangzhou, Nanjing, Nanning, Shenyang, Wuxi, Xi’an, Zhengzhou, and Chengdu as well. Its focus cities include Beijing, Quanzhou, and Yangzhou.

Shenzhen Airlines started to operate in London Heathrow on October 30, 2018, using its A330-300s and flies non-stop three times weekly.
