In the year 1968, this airline company that is based in North Bay, Ontario, started its operations. Voyageur Airways Limited, which has been operated as a private corporation until 2015, does not only provides scheduled services but also air charters, repairs, and maintenance of aircraft, and even air ambulance service. It also offers ground handling, fuel services and also terminal services. This airline company makes use of Bombardier Dash 8 and Bombardier CRJ200 regional jets. Currently, there are newly added operations, and these are in Uganda, DRcongo, Niger, and Sudan.

In the year 2015, this Canadian company was acquired by Chorus Aviation. With the said amendment, its headquarter is now located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A year after, in 2016, the Voyageur Aviation Corporation established the Voyageur Aerotech and Voyageur Ayparts, respectively. The following companies have been added as a support and also to expand their business ventures. Voyageur Aerotech is in line with aircraft maintenance, design, engineering services such as repair and overhaul. On the other hand, Voyageur Ayparts is dedicated to providing a variety of regional aircraft supply chain services such as aircraft component repair and overhaul, inventory and consignment services, and the provisioning of aircraft parts.

Voyageur Airways Fleet

As of the year 2018, Voyageur Airways’ fleet that is registered with Transport Canada includes two Beechcraft B200 King Air that is being used as an Air Ambulance. It also acquired two Bombardier Dash 8-100 which has a capacity of 37 passengers. Its five Bombardier Dash 8-300 can accommodate 50 passengers as well as its Bombardier CRJ200. Lastly, it also makes use of Bombardier Dash 8-400 which can transport 70 passengers. It also acquires a total of thirteen De Havilland Canada DHC-8 Dash 8.
