WestJet History
WestJet Airlines Ltd. was established in the year 1996 with its headquarter located near the Calgary International Airport. This Canadian low-cost carrier provides not only scheduled service but also charter air service to more than 100 destinations around Canada, Europe, Mexico, the United States, Central America, and even at the Caribbean. Today, WestJet holds the title of being the second-largest Canadian carrier. Daily, it operates an average of 777 flights and carrying around 66,000 passengers. In the year 2018, it has been ranked on the 9th placed of being the largest airline in North America by passengers carried which is 25.49 million.
This airline company currently employ 13,000 employees. To give you an idea, WestJet is not yet a part of any airline alliances. For its operations, it makes use of Boeing 737 Next Generation family, Boeing 767 and 787, and Boeing 737 MAX. It also has two direct subsidiaries, namely WestJet Encore and WestJet Link. The former operates Bombardier Q400 while the latter operates the Saab 340B.
WestJet Destinations
