What do the colors mean?
The white arrow on the runway points the way the traffic is going. Derived from the positions of aircraft flying low near the airport right now. Not an official runway plan; what we see.
Designation, direction and length of every runway. These rarely change; which one is in use right now shows up here whenever we observe traffic.
1 runway · Longest runway: 9,039 ft
We currently see no traffic on approach or just after takeoff. That happens at a quiet airport or in the middle of the night.

Fly direct
The destinations we know the most flight numbers for. That approximates how heavily a route is served; it is not a passenger count.
Other airports within reach, with the straight-line distance and the number of direct destinations we know of. Airports without scheduled service are left out.
Airport facts
Adampur Airport (IATA AIP, ICAO VIAX) lies at Adampur, about 20 kilometers northeast of Jalandhar in the Doaba region of Punjab, India. It is first of all an Indian Air Force station, one of the most important in the north of the country, with a civil enclave opened in 2018 under the government's regional connectivity scheme to give Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and the surrounding towns, home to a huge diaspora in Britain and Canada, an airport of their own. The radar on this page shows what our data sources report around Adampur; the arrivals and departures pages are linked above it. India is four and a half hours ahead of Central European winter time.
The civil flights at Adampur have come and gone: IndiGo, SpiceJet and Alliance Air have at different times flown to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Nanded under the subsidized regional scheme, and the current schedule depends on which airline holds the route; check the timetable before you plan around it. There are no international flights, and the air force controls the airfield. Adampur lies beyond the reach of our receivers, so the live radar depends on other data sources.
Taxis and the cars of hotels and relatives wait at the terminal for the drive into Jalandhar, about 40 minutes on the Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur road, and to Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala and the villages of the Doaba; app-based cabs reach the airport from Jalandhar. There is no bus service into the base. Jalandhar railway station, on the Delhi-Amritsar line, is the connection for trains.
The terminal is a small single building in the civil enclave with one departure hall; security is in the hands of the armed forces and photography is forbidden around the base, and passengers should arrive two hours ahead and carry identity documents. Flights are sometimes suspended when the air force needs the field or during periods of military tension. The international gateway for the Punjab is Amritsar, an hour and a half away, with flights to London, Birmingham, Toronto and the Gulf; Chandigarh is the other regional airport, and Delhi the national hub.
