Athens Airport arrivals: how to read the board

The arrivals board above lists the flights landing at Athens Eleftherios Venizelos International today, with the scheduled time, the estimated or actual landing time and the status of each flight. It updates continuously. Athens is the hub of Aegean Airlines and the transfer point for the Greek islands; from Britain, flights arrive from London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester and Edinburgh, and from the United States from New York, Newark and Chicago.

The airport has a Main Terminal and a Satellite Terminal for domestic and Schengen flights, linked by an underground walkway; every arriving passenger comes out into the arrivals hall of the Main Terminal. Allow half an hour between landing and the hall for Schengen flights, longer for flights from Britain and the United States with passport control. For a quick pick-up, stop briefly at the arrivals curb or park in the short-term lot opposite. Metro Line 3 runs to Syntagma and Monastiraki, the Proastiakos suburban railway to Piraeus and Kiato, and the express buses X95 (Syntagma) and X96 (Piraeus) run around the clock; taxis wait outside the exit.
