Malta Airport arrivals: how to read the board
The arrivals board above lists the flights landing at Malta International today, with the scheduled time, the estimated or actual landing time and the status of each flight. It updates continuously. Malta’s only airport, at Luqa in the middle of the island, is the home of KM Malta Airlines and a large Ryanair base; British flights make up a large share of its traffic, from London Gatwick, Manchester, London Stansted, London Heathrow and Birmingham.
Malta has one terminal; every arriving passenger comes out into the Welcomers’ Hall, where the taxi booth and the car-rental desks are. Allow half an hour between landing and the hall, longer for flights from Britain with passport control. To pick someone up, pull up opposite Arrivals in one of the areas marked Passenger Drop-Off for a brief stop, or use the main parking, where the first ten minutes are free. The Airport Direct buses TD2, TD3 and TD4 run every 30 minutes to St. Julian’s, Sliema and Valletta from the bus terminal outside arrivals, and fixed-rate taxi tickets are sold at the booth in the hall.
