Malta Airport departures: how to read the board
The departures board above lists the flights leaving Malta International today, with the scheduled departure time, the estimated or actual time, the destination and the status. It updates continuously; an estimated time later than the schedule means a delay, and departed means the aircraft has left the gate.
Malta has one terminal with check-in on the ground floor, security on the first floor and the gates in the pier beyond; the walk is short. The busy moments are the early-morning wave, when Ryanair and KM Malta Airlines launch a string of flights, and summer afternoons, when the Jet2.com, easyJet and TUI Airways flights to Britain leave together and go through passport control. Arrive well ahead of the time on the board.
Dropping off and getting there
For a quick drop-off, pull up opposite Departures in one of the areas marked Passenger Drop-Off, just long enough to unload, or use the main parking, where the first ten minutes are free. The Airport Direct buses run from Valletta, Sliema, St. Julian’s, Bugibba and Mellieha to the bus terminal at the airport, and Malta Taxi and ride apps drop off at the departures curb; from anywhere on the island the drive is under an hour.
The board is dominated by Ryanair flights across Europe, KM Malta Airlines to Rome Fiumicino, London Heathrow, Munich and Vienna, the British holiday flights to London Gatwick, Manchester, London Stansted and Birmingham, and the Italian flights to Catania and Milan. Looking for an arriving flight? Switch to the Arrivals tab. Every airport we track is listed in the airport overview.
