Jetsmart Launches Flights Between Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Asunción, Paraguay

On Tuesday, South American ultra-low-cost carrier JetSMART launched a new international route in the region. It flew between Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) in Argentina to Asunción International Airport (ASU) in Paraguay with its Airbus A320 fleet and became the 72nd city-to-city connection that JetSMART runs.

The most recent route

Yesterday, JetSMART opened a route between Buenos Aires and Asunción. That’s the same day it reached the milestone of being the first ULCC that connects all Mercosur countries.

JetSMART operated the flight with an Airbus A320, with registration LV-KFX. The narrowbody airliner departed from Ezeiza International Airport at 10:30 local time to the city of Asunción, Paraguay. Estuardo Ortiz of JetSMART said that

JetSMART directs flights to South America. We’ve just launched a new flight route between Buenos Aires and Asunción, where we can connect travel in the region with two more choices than ever before. In addition to great connectivity, this JetSMART service will reduce flight prices by 80%, decreasing vacation costs without the need for long-haul travel.

JetSMART is connecting customers in South America

JetSMART Argentina, a company that operates 3 branches in the region, has 318 weekly flights out of Buenos Aires, 30 daily flights and is set to launch 12 more routes to destinations in Brazil and Uruguay.

JetSMART offers 306 weekly flights and 97% of them are domestic. Buenos Aires-Bariloche, Buenos Aires-Mendoza and Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery Airport Santiago de Chile are its most important routes domestically. Internationally, JetSMART only offers 12 daily departures on three routes. These are Buenos Aires Ezeiza Santiago de Chile (one weekly flight), Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery Airport Santiago de Chile (four weekly flights), and the route to meet up in Asunción, Paraguay with a daily return service.

With this new route in place, JetSMART has now added Paraguay as an international airport. Estuardo Ortiz commented that,

South Americans are huge travelers for a broad number of reasons, including business, health and to visit loved ones. They will make every effort to cut down their traveling time to maximize the moments they spend doing meaningful things.

JetSMART is a plan with lots of value

JetSMART is one of the fastest-growing companies in Latin America. The company received a huge order from Airbus, which arrived just before Christmas, and has big plans for the future.

On Monday, Colombia’s civil aviation authority made an announcement about a new branch of JetSMART possibly coming to this country. It would operate out of Bogota El Dorado International Airport and have up to 12 Airbus A320neo aircraft.

JetSMART recently reported that it plans to increase its domestic and international capacity for the summer season in the Southern Hemisphere. Estuardo Ortiz, the president of JetSMART, said that the company would have grown by 60% between June and December and would now have 23 aircraft over their route network.
