What do the colors mean?
The white arrow on the runway points the way the traffic is going. Derived from the positions of aircraft flying low near the airport right now. Not an official runway plan; what we see.
Designation, direction and length of every runway. These rarely change; which one is in use right now shows up here whenever we observe traffic.

Practical
Transport by train and taxi; parking at the airport; picking someone up or dropping them off.
Fly direct
The destinations we know the most flight numbers for. That approximates how heavily a route is served; it is not a passenger count.
Other airports within reach, with the straight-line distance and the number of direct destinations we know of. Airports without scheduled service are left out.

The live radar on this page shows the aircraft arriving at and departing from DFW right now, and the arrivals and departures pages linked above it give you the current DFW airport flight status. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (IATA: DFW, ICAO: KDFW) is a busy large airport serving Dallas-Fort Worth in the United States and, in our own tracking data, first and foremost an American Airlines airport. Our own numbers back up that large-airport classification in our records. The text below adds what neither the radar nor those pages can show you: how much traffic our receivers actually log at DFW, which carriers dominate that measurement, and which nearby fields to check when a flight does not use DFW itself.
Alongside the live radar, we run our own reception measurement at Dallas Fort Worth, which our database places at 32.8968 N, 97.038 W. Over the past 30 days, our receivers logged an average of 89 aircraft observations per day near DFW. Treat that as a reception figure from our own measurement, not an official airport count. The busiest window in the same measurement fell between 00:00 and 02:00. That window is stated in UTC, the clock our measurement runs on, so it does not line up with local time in Dallas-Fort Worth. If you want to know whether your own flight is early or late, the arrivals and departures pages linked above the radar remain the place to look; this measurement describes the airport as a whole.
One carrier towers over the rest of our DFW data. We logged 1,467 readings for American Airlines in those 30 days, far more than any other airline in the measurement. Frontier Airlines followed at a distance with 221 readings, and Delta Air Lines appeared 70 times, a modest presence at an airport this size. That gap is the defining feature of the measurement: Frontier and Delta combined do not come close to American's 1,467. All three counts are 30-day totals from our own reception measurement, so read them as a picture of who we saw most at DFW, not as a schedule.
DFW is not the only field serving Dallas-Fort Worth, so double-check which airport your ticket names. Dallas Love Field lies just 19 km from DFW, and on the Fort Worth side, Perot Field/Fort Worth Alliance Airport sits 28 km away; Fort Worth Meacham International Airport follows at 31 km. If a flight you expected is missing from the DFW arrivals or departures page, those are the first places to look. Flying into another city instead?
