Frontier Airlines Expands Their Reach to The Caribbean

Frontier Airlines, a US-owned aviation company, is set to add new routes to their over 100 flight destinations throughout the United States and 31 international destinations. The airline has recently moved to increase its base to cater to customers in the Caribbean starting from March 2021. This will enable the airline to operate weekly flights from Miami to the Dominican Republic and St. Thomas withinside the US Virgin Islands.

The Senior Vice President of commercial at Frontier Airlines, Dan Schurz, said in a press release that:

We’re thrilled to continue our exceptional growth at Miami’s convenient airport with new nonstop flights to Punta Cana and St. Thomas starting right in time for spring break travel. These new flights will offer unparalleled affordability and access between Miami and two beautiful destinations in the Caribbean. Additionally, the flights will maintain Frontier’s high health standards, including required mask wearing, temperature screenings and enhanced onboard cleaning.”

The nonstop flights will serve as a supplement to Frontier’s new flights to Cancun and Orlando out of Miami, starting by February. This is a part of their expansion level this year to deliver an unprecedented level of service to customers, especially at the Orlando International Airport. Frontier Airlines have also been able to dodge some of the issues connected with nonstop trips because of its connecting flights.

Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Frontier Airlines were dauntless and continued to work on new routes and improvising on ways to improve the quality of their services. Their flight to Punta will start March 8, 2021, and will operate twice a week with the Airbus A320 Family Jets. Frontier Airlines and other low-cost carriers like Southwest and JetBlue (hybrid carrier) will also fly out of Miami. Still, none of them have widened their reach to the Caribbean and Central America.

Frontier Airlines has broken new grounds in aviation in the past and doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
