Flight tracking questions

How do I track a flight by number?

Enter the flight number from your booking and select the matching result. Check the date and departure and arrival airports before continuing. The same flight number may be used on different days.

Can I search without a flight number?

Yes. Search for an airline, airport or a pair of airports, such as JFK LHR. If a city has several airports, select the relevant airport or connection. Route information is not a complete timetable or a ticket-booking service.

Why isn’t my flight on the radar?

The aircraft may be on the ground, outside the available coverage or unidentified under the flight number you entered. You may still find other flight information through search.

Does landing time mean someone is ready for pickup?

No. Taxiing, leaving the aircraft, walking, baggage claim and border checks can add time after landing. Choose "I’m picking someone up" on the flight page for an estimated arrivals-hall window.

When should I arrive at the airport?

Follow your airline’s and airport’s instructions. On the flight page, choose "I’m flying" for guidance based on the information available and your travel choices. A delayed departure does not automatically move check-in, bag-drop or gate deadlines.

Which time zone is shown?

Departure and arrival times use each airport’s local time where known. If a time zone is unavailable, the time zone used is stated. Check the date as well, especially for overnight and international flights.

How our flight information works

Aircraft positions come from received tracking reports. Departure times, arrival times and flight status come from available airport and flight-data sources. A visible aircraft position does not always come with a confirmed route or complete flight details.

Scheduled, estimated and actual times are labeled separately. Travel advice uses available airport information and general guidelines, with sources and limitations shown alongside the advice.
